Southwest Washington offers year-round fishing opportunities if you know where to look and when to go. Here is our season-by-season breakdown for the rivers Chrome City Guide Service fishes.
January through March: Winter steelhead on the Kalama, Cowlitz, Lewis, Elochoman, and Naselle. Peak fishing typically February through March on the Kalama and Cowlitz.
April through May: Spring Chinook salmon on the Cowlitz, Kalama, and Lewis. One of the most anticipated fisheries in the region. Book early.
June through August: Summer steelhead on the Cowlitz and Lewis. Warm-weather fishing with hard-fighting fish.
October through December: Coho salmon across all five rivers. Aggressive fish, beautiful fall scenery, and some of the most action-packed trips we guide.
We adjust rivers and techniques based on current conditions — this calendar is a starting point. Call or book online and we will match you to the best fishery for your dates.
