The Elochoman River is a gem for anglers who want smaller water and a more personal fishing experience. It flows through Wahkiakum County into the Columbia and is best known for winter steelhead and fall coho.
Because the Elochoman is smaller than the Kalama or Cowlitz, fishing here is hands-on and active. You are in the game on every drift, every bobber drop, and every bite. Winter steelhead from January through March can be excellent when conditions align, and fall coho provide aggressive action through October and November.
This is the river we recommend when clients want to get away from crowds and fish water that rewards patience, precision, and local knowledge.
Limited boat access makes timing and water levels critical. We fish the Elochoman when conditions and runs support productive drift-boat fishing.
