Guides who love this water.
Chrome City Guide Service was built on one idea: when you come to Southwest Washington to fish, you deserve a guide who actually lives for the river.

Trevor Torppa
Trevor Torppa started Chrome City Guide Service in 2022 because he wanted to spend his life doing what he loves most — fishing, and sharing that experience with others. Growing up in Washington with a family cabin in Kenai, Alaska, he developed a level of skill and professionalism that shows in every trip he runs.
With 10+ years of drift boat experience and mastery of every technique Chrome City offers — fly, spey, spin, centerpin, bobber fishing, back-trolling, and more — Trevor reads Southwest Washington rivers the way other people read the morning news. He knows where fish hold after a rain, when a run is building, and how to adjust when conditions change mid-day.
When he is not guiding on the Kalama, Cowlitz, or Lewis, Trevor writes monthly articles for NW Sportsman Magazine and Salmon Trout Steelheader Magazine. He also owns Soldotna Fishing Guides on Alaska's Kenai River, guiding full-time in both Washington and Alaska through the season.
Trevor's standard is simple: make every trip on the water exceptional whether the fish cooperate or not. That means clear communication, quality gear, patient instruction, and a guide who genuinely cares about your experience.

Zach Torppa
Zach Torppa grew up following his brother Trevor on the river — fishing, rowing, and learning every technique Chrome City uses from the time he was eight years old. In 2026, Zach joins the Chrome City guide team as a full-time Washington guide.
With 5+ years of rowing experience and a genuine love for putting smiles on people's faces, Zach brings energy and patience to every trip. He is especially great with families and first-time anglers who want a guide who makes learning fun.
Zach shares Trevor's passion for the water and the same commitment to making every guest feel welcome, whether they are chasing their first steelhead or their twentieth salmon.
What anglers say
“Trevor put us on steelhead all day on the Kalama. Patient with my son who had never caught a steelhead before — he landed two. Already booked again for spring Chinook.”
“Best guided fishing trip we have taken in Washington. Professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to spend a day on the river with. The coho fishing on the Cowlitz was nonstop.”
“We have fished with guides across the Northwest. Trevor knows these rivers at a level most guides do not. Spring Chinook on the Cowlitz was the highlight of our year.”
“Took my dad for his 65th birthday. Zach was patient, professional, and made sure my dad got his fish. Best gift I could have given him.”
“First time steelhead fishing and Trevor made it easy. Clear instruction, great gear, and fish in the boat by mid-morning. Cannot recommend Chrome City enough.”
“Booked online, showed up, caught coho, went home happy. Exactly what you want from a guide service. Will be back every fall.”
