Steelehead, King Salmon, Coho Salmon

Steelhead

Steelhead are the fish of 1,000 casts. These fish are migratory Rainbow Trout, returning to their home rivers within a few years of their journey out to the ocean. These fish can be targeted in multiple ways in various water conditions. Steelhead are a high flying, acrobatic and exhilarating fish to fight, which makes the chase well worth it.

Retention of these fish is allowed in most of our rivers and streams of SW Washington. Although, there are many rivers that only have wild and natural steelhead (fish that have to be released). A questionnaire within our booking flow allows us to decipher what river system we may choose for your trip!

We offer drift boat and rafting fishing trips to target the steelhead species all over Washington State.

Techniques we offer include gear fishing, spin/float fishing, back trolling, drift fishing, fly fishing and centerpin fishing.

Here I have attached a fishing seasons chart that refers to all of the different species we target, and what time of year you can expect to have a good opportunity at catching!

Chinook Salmon

The Chinook is also referred to as the “King Salmon”. The King has always been a sought after fish, dating back to when we first started catching and harvesting them within our local watersheds. The Kings are often bigger and stronger than all other fish species that our rivers have to offer.

Depending on whether you fish them in the fall or the spring makes targeting them different. Whether you decide to target them in the fall or the spring, these fish are usually very plentiful and also very tasty. Chinook salmon tend to have the most fat content of any of our Pacific salmon, making them great table fair as well as a lot of fun to catch!

We offer gear fishing, spey fishing, fly fishing, back trolling, spin/float fishing and centerpin options for all anglers. A questionnaire within our booking flow helps us decipher what technique it is that you’d like to try as well as other important things such as wader sizes.
